About Us

Founded by a group for the children

The world is currently in a social media crisis. Over 50% of children under 13 are on social media apps like Instagram, Facebook and Snapchat. More than 54% of children aged  7-12 are regularly exposed to sexual images.  In the past 5 years, there has been an 82% increase in cases of online grooming.

What started as a novelty has developed into a new norm. Already, more than 44% of children under 13 in NSW own a smartphone. Over 45% of them are already on apps like Instagram, Facebook and Snapchat, apps not designed for preadolescent users. As such, more than half of these children experience regular exposure to sexual images and inappropriate content posted by teenage and adult creators.

Here at Loch, we think we can strike this balance and provide our children with a safer and more engaging alternative within the social media crisis.
